World activities and sports events continue to canceled due to global outbreak of Corona virus. Wimbledon Open Tennis Tournament Cancel. Now the Wimbledon Championship, the biggest tennis tournament of the year, has been canceled.

This is the first time since World War II that the Wimbledon Open has been canceled.

Wimbledon was schedule to begin on June 29 2020. After cancellation of Olympics, it was decide to play games in empty grounds.

But the event has ultimately canceled due to the players’ refusal to play in the stadium. And the possible refusal of the sponsors.

“We announce it with great regret,” the statement said on the Wimbledon website.  The All England Club’s main board and the championship management committee have canceled the Wimbledon Championship. In view of the risks posed to the public’s health due to the Corona virus.

The 134th Wimbledon Championship will now be held from June 28 to July 11 next year, the statement said.

He said that the Committee of Management decided that cancellation of the championship was the best decision keeping in view the health of the people.

So far 62,264 people have died by the virus worldwide.  However, more than 11 lakh 62 thousand people have been affected with Covid-19 worldwide.

Wimbledon Open is not the first sport to be contested by the Corona virus In fact, several sports competitions have already been canceled.

All cricket matches have been canceled briefly.  While all competitions including the Euro Cup, Copa America and the Olympics have been canceled due to the virus.

Pakistan Super League knockout matches also had postponed due to Corona virus.

IPL first it was postpone till April 15 but after reviewing the situation of Covid-19 outbreak. This event has canceled for unknown time.
