New Team Rankings: India Lost His 1st Position

India slipped to fourth position in the ICC Test Championship list after losing to England by 227 runs in the first Test in Chennai on Tuesday. While the England team has reached the first place from the fourth.

In the first Test match played in Chennai, England defeated India by 227 runs. Team India has suffered a defeat at the Chepak ground in Chennai after 22 years. Chasing a target of 420, India bowled out for 192 in the fourth innings.

England made a Himalayan score of 578 in their first innings thanks to Jorot’s double century. In response, India managed to score 337 in their first innings thanks to Reshbh Pant’s 91-run innings. In the second innings, England could not stand in front of Ashwin and have restricted to 178 runs. India had a target of 420 runs to win. However, India managed only 192 runs in their second innings. Thus England has started the series victoriously by defeating the host team.

New Position in Test Championship

After the Chennai Test, England is first with 70.2 percentage points, New Zealand is second with 70.0 percentage points, Australia is third with 69.2 percentage points and India is fourth with 68.3 percentage points. Pakistan also moved from 7th position to fifth position after winning the test series from South Africa.

New Zealand have completed the series in the Test Championship and made it to the final at Lord’s in June as their condition has not changed. After losing the first Test, India have to win this four-match series 1-2 or 3-1 to make it to the final. England have to win this series by 3-1, 3-0 or 4-0. Australia has postponed its tour of South Africa and is now ranked third. Australia’s hopes India.
