But since the 2016 T20 World Cup, the government has cut taxes, which the ICC is still demanding. India now have to host the T20 World Cup in 2021 and the ODI World Cup in 2023. The ICC wants assurances of tax exemption from the Indian government before finalizing matters.
ICC General Council and Company Secretary Jonathan Hall sent an e-mail to the BCCE in this regard stating.
