Andrew Symonds was 46, according to Reuters. He played 238 matches for Australia between 1998 and 2009, including 26 Tests. He was also a member of Australia’s World Cup winning teams.

According to police, the accident took place on Saturday night at Harvey Range, 50 km from Townsville. Andrew Symonds was driving himself. The vehicle overturned and went down the road while the accident is known to be of the same vehicle.

According to Queensland Police, an investigation has launched into the crash.

Cricket Australia chairman Lashlin Henderson said that Cricket Australia has lost another great player. He said in a statement that Andrew Symonds had played a key role in Australia’s victory in the two World Cups.
