According to the latest Test team rankings released by the International Cricket Council. New Zealand swept Pakistan in a two-Test series, depriving Australia of the world number one title and securing the first position in the ICC Test team rankings. According to new rankings, Australia has slipped one place to second, while India is third.
One of the reasons for becoming the world number one is New Zealand’s excellent record at home. The last time they lost a Test match on home soil was in 2017. And this is the only Test they have lost on home soil since 2017.
India is third with 114 points and England is fourth with 106 points. South Africa is fifth with 96 points, Sri Lanka is sixth with 86 points and Pakistan is seventh with 82 points.
The West Indies are eighth in the ICC Test team points table with 77 points. Afghanistan is ninth with 57 points while Bangladesh is tenth with 55 points.
Similarly, the Zimbabwean team is ranked eleventh with 18 points. The Irish team has not yet scored a point.
