Captain Babar Azam out of T20 series: NZ vs Pak
Captain Babar Azam out of T20 series due to Fracture in thumb. This is a big blow to the Pakistan team before starting the series. According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Captain Babar Azam out of T20 series
The PCB said a ball landed on the thumb of Babar Azam’s right hand during a throw-down in a net session in Queenstown. After which he shifted to the hospital where X-ray confirmed the fracture. According to the statement, Babar Azam could not practice net for at least 12 days due to fracture. However, he will continue his physical training while the medical panel will review his injury.
Due to Babar Azam’s unfitness, Shadab Khan will now lead the national team in the T20 series against New Zealand.
It should noted that the series of 3 T20 matches between Pakistan and New Zealand will start from December 18. Its last match will played on December 22.
Statement by Misbah Ul Haque on Babar Injury
On Babar Azam’s injury, national team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said that injuries are part of any professional sport. He said it was disappointing that a talented player like Babar Azam was ruled out of the T20 series due to injury. However, this is a great opportunity for other players in the squad to showcase their talents.
The head coach said that he has spoken to Babar Azam and he is very sad to be out of the T20 series.
